Walking With God - Part 2

God has always wanted to be intimate with us. This truth is evident from creation when God made Adam and Eve. He had fellowship with them until sin disrupted the relationship. Even then, God made a way in Christ Jesus to reconcile us to Him. And for all who believe in Jesus, we can have fellowship with our heavenly father yet again. As we seek to go deeper in this relationship, the following principles may be helpful. Please read the first part of this title for other helpful principles.

Be Humble

Philippians 2:5-8: Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross
I Peter 5:6: Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Memorise the Scripture

Colossians 3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord
Psalm 119:11: Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You.

Pray & Observe Fasting

Pray & Observe Fasting
Luke 18:1: Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
I Thessalonians 5:17-18: Pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Joel 2:12: “Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
Acts 13:2: While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Fellowship With Other Christians

Acts 2:42: They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Hebrews 10:24-25: and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
